Why You Should Use Racing Wheels
If you are ever wondering why you should use a racing wheel to play the racing game on a PC or a console, the answer is simple and straightforward; the racing wheels make the experience much better. Whether it is arcade racing or simulator racing, the experience is going to be enjoyable.
Drive Like a Pro
When you are using a proper racing wheel, you can actually drive like a pro and won’t be crashing into the boundaries every 2 minutes. I am saying this because I have experienced it whenever I play a racing game, especially one that has a very realistic way of portraying the driving in-game.
You Want Proper Control
It should not come as a surprise that anyone who is in search of a proper way to control their vehicles in a game would have a merry time with a proper racing wheel. The wheel is accompanied by all the necessary controls like brakes, as well as gears in many high-end packages.
Combined, these make the experience much realistic, and streamlined because the user gets the proper control over how they want to control the vehicle and play the game that they are playing.

Best Racing Wheel 2020 Under 100
The first review is of the HORI racing wheel.
HORI has been making some impressive peripherals in the market (we have reviewed their fight stick here), and this racing wheel is no different. As a matter of fact, it is one of the best racing wheels available in the market. It officially supports PC, PlayStation, and even Xbox so you can stop worrying about compatibility issues.
With that said, the racing wheel does come with a number of goodies like pedals that allow for superior control over your car in any game that you wish to play. You even get rumble-feedback for that extra realism that has become a staple for the gamers in the modern day and age.
The build quality of the wheel itself is pretty decent, and it should last you for a very long time. The racing wheel is also customizable so your experience with it will be rather nice.
However, I cannot say the same about the build quality that is being offered on the pedals, as most of them just feel average at best. One more thing I wish that the wheel had is, of course, the force feedback.
Putting aside the minor inconveniences, the HORI racing wheel is actually a great option for those who are on a budget. It is not ridiculously expensive and works well in every racing game that you could want to play. The racing wheel certainly is a recommendation to anyone who happens to be on a budget.
In fact, TrustedReviews.com called it “This is one of the very best non-force feedback wheels on the market”.
Pros
- Gives a great performance in all racing games
- Budget friendly
- Can be customized
- Supports multiple platforms
- The rumble-feedback is a nice touch
- The build quality is nice
Cons
- The build quality of the pedals is unsatisfying and mediocre at best
- There is no forced feedback available on this racing wheel, making the overall package feel incomplete to many users in the market

Best Racing Wheel 2020 Under 200
The next racing wheel I have on the list is the ThurstMaster TMX, this is one of the higher end racing wheels in this list, meaning that you are going to pay more, but you will also get more for your money.
You can tell that you are getting a good quality racing wheel just by looking at the wheel itself. It is constructed using good quality materials and does not feel like it is going to fall apart any moment. However, I would have loved if the pedals actually had the same build quality but some corners were cut as the build quality is not the same.
But do not worry, there are plenty of things that are done right by the ThrustMaster TMX.
For starters, it has one of the best force-feedbacks that you can find on any wheel in the market, and the racing experience is among the best I have seen as well. You get force-feed in the belt section, as well as the gear section. In addition to that, you can even use this racing wheel on PC, or Xbox without running into any issue whatsoever.
Overall, the ThrustMaster TMX falls in line with the rest of the products that are available in the same price range. It is definitely on the expensive side for many people, but I would not see it as a trade-off.
As a matter of fact, it is one of the best performers when it comes to delivering a great gaming experience.
The things that I do not like are subjective at best; for starters, I have stated in my review that the pedals feel cheap in construction as compared to the rest of the racing wheel but that is just a minor inconvenience that should not bother you a lot.
Pros
- The racing wheel has excellent build quality
- It has one of the strongest force-feedbacks
- Playing racing games on it is an absolute treat whether you are playing simulation, or arcade
- Works on both Xbox and PC
Cons
- The build quality on the pedals is cheap
Logitech G920: Check Price On Amazon
We have all heard about Logitech time and again, and why shouldn’t we?
The company has been in the peripheral industry for as long as some of us can remember, and for all the right reasons. Logitech is one of those companies which took off in the peripheral market long before the concept of “gaming” peripherals came into the existence.
With that said, the Logitech G920 sits at the table now, and I have to say, this looks like one of the most premium racing wheels I have seen so far. Right from the get-go, you can tell that this is the racing wheel built for people who are serious about racing games.
The construction on both the wheel and the pedal is a combination of great materials like brushed stainless steel, and I can assure you that you will not be facing any issues with the quality like you would in cheaper alternatives.
The racing wheel does not require the user to read any user manual or something as the installation process is as easy as it can get.
In addition to that, the force-feedback is amazing as it happens to be super consistent, and on top of that, it also happens to be strong. I have no complaints as far as the functionality of this racing wheel is concerned.
The G920 also has extensive support for the games that you plan on playing using this racing wheel so far as the compatibility is concerned, there is not much to fuss about, in the first place.
The only thing I don’t like is the fact that the USB cable that accompanies the racing wheel is on the shorter side, and in addition to that, the racing wheel is slightly on the more expensive side.
Pros
- Feels and looks premium
- The force-feedback is the best I have tested so far
- Easy to setup
- Works with every game you would test it on
Cons
- The USB cable is on the shorter side
ThrustMaster VG TS-PC: Check Price On Amazon
Best High End PC Racing Wheel
ThrustMaster comes back with another racing wheel on the list, the ThrustMaster VG TS-PC. It is one of the premium racing wheels on the market, clearly being on the expensive side but for all the right reasons. The racing wheel comes loaded with features such as a ridiculously powerful motor that actually requires a different power source.
However, keep in mind that it is one of the most expensive racing wheels out in the market. This is undoubtedly a great racing wheel. It could be made even better if you attach it to your racing chair because then it becomes the perfect package.
Still, the performance remains solid, as you would expect from something of this caliber. Another thing that I should add is that setting it up can take some time, especially if you are doing it for the first time, but once everything is set up, the remaining process is as easy and simplified as it can get.
Overall, the ThrustMaster VG-TS-PC is a great racing wheel, however, I have to point it out that it feels like it is built more for people who want something enthusiast grade, and not something entry level.
This also means that the racing wheel feels like something that would suit an enthusiast more than it would suit an average consumer. One thing that I don’t like is that the racing pedals are not included, which basically increases the cost when you buy them separately.
All in all, the ThrustMaster VG TS-PC is a great piece of hardware, that would look great with your gaming setup as well.
Pros
- The ThrustMaster VG TS-PC is probably the most powerful racing wheels in the market
- It has an amazing performance in all the games
- Made with solid materials throughout the entirety
- Fun to use
Cons
- Setting it up is a bit difficult
- Not the most budget friendly option in the market
- The pedals do not come with the wheel
- The external motor means more cable management
Conclusion
Many people are under the impression that no one buys the racing wheels anymore, because racing games are slowly going out of fashion.
However, as long as games like Forza, Gran Turismo, and Need for Speed are around, the racing wheels are also going to be in great demand.
Keeping that in mind, the list caters to several users as we have covered racing wheels that fall under a variety of price categories, this is to make sure that users don’t have any issues whenever they are in the market for a good racing wheel.
